Lesser Black-backed Gull

Description

Lesser Black-backed Gull is similar to Caspian Gull in coloring but mantle and scapulars are black or slate-black; legs are always yellow. Juveniles are same to juvenile Caspian Gulls but much darker: grey-brownish color is replaced by almost black. In size Lesser Black-headed Gull is slightly less than Caspian Gull: wing 395-450, tarsus 55-65, bill 45-55 mm.
